“In the last few years shamanism has become something of buzz-word and one of the challenges is that now with so many schools, teachers and practitioners out there – how does one choose who to work with? I came across The Sacred Trust about 10 years ago and was immediately drawn to undertake a number of courses with them. At that time I had little idea what shamanism even was, and Simon Buxton gently but firmly led me onto, and along the path. It wasn't always an easy path to tread but I always felt held, safe and in loving hands, for Simon is a man of real integrity, powerful intention and uncompromising loyalty to spirit. I have studied with many different people since my first tentative steps into this work but always return to The Sacred Trust for support, supervision and to dive ever deeper into this compassionate, powerful healing practice.”

“I first came to train with The Sacred Trust after seven years practicing shamanism mostly in isolation, as learnt from books and the occasional conversation with a fellow practitioner. I came as a cynic; that is, I was very sure that all of us human beings are motivated solely by selfish reasons, and that those in a spiritual calling, in particular teachers, are seldom - if ever - what they profess to be. So I approached the workshop, the workshop leaders, the other participants and even my own participation with caution, to say the least. It pleases me immensely to report that I left that initial weekend workshop with a deep sense of relief at having found people who were authentically given to working in partnership with spirit and from whom I could learn new things about shamanic practice. The teaching was done in an entirely secure space so that I and the other participants had the opportunity to relax and to step more deeply into the work we were already doing as people of spirit. It appeared to me that the intent of the teacher – Simon Buxton - was to send us back out into our own lives having met the spirits in a new way and acquired new skills in working with our own teaching spirits and, apparently, never to lay eyes on us again. How refreshing is that? For myself, I went away not only more skilled and confident in meeting with, learning from and working with spirit, but also encouraged by my fellow participants.
Over the ensuing years I have continued learning from Simon Buxton and other members of The Sacred Trust faculty - Naomi Lewis and Kate Shela. I have consistently found them to be teachers of the highest calibre in their ability to create a safe space for delicate work, to transmit the required information and to impart and nurture new skills. Nearly invisibly, but more importantly, these teachers consistently demonstrate in their teaching the healing human qualities of compassion, self discipline, devotion and humour so badly needing cultivation in our souls at every point in human history. These are teachers whom I value and respect, they are also human beings whom I have come to trust deeply enough to relax in their presence and to listen with my heart to who it is they are being.”
Laurie McNeil - Department Head, West Somerset Community College
“Working with Simon Buxton and Naomi Lewis in their Darkness Visible workshop was literally an 'extra-ordinary' experience. The 'ordinary' element was that the course was beautifully organised, with the result that we all felt incredibly safe and cared-for and looked after. The 'extra' bit was being guided by such excellent tutors and consequently being able to come into contact with a deep and profound spiritual practice. Overall, this was one of the most memorable experiences of my adult life. I strongly recommend it to other people who are searching for enlightenment.”

It is difficult for me to put into words the impact that The Sacred Trust has had upon me. Transformative is probably the closest I can come, and that does not do my experience with this organisation justice. I first met Simon Buxton just four days after 9/11. The world was gripped in fear. I had to travel from Switzerland to London and I was advised by everyone around me to cancel my trip. However, I felt inexorably drawn to attend the introductory Way of the Shaman workshop. I have never regretted this decision. During these two days in London, I entered a world of magic, excitement and connectedness which my soul had been yearning for since childhood. I embarked upon a steep and adventurous path of self-healing, moving ever deeper into the mystery of the Self, Spirit and the Cosmos.
This is a personal adventure which, for me, will never end—it extends into eternity, beyond all definitions of time and space. It is my journey home. Over the past seven years, I have participated in a number of outstanding courses and trainings offered by The Sacred Trust: Soul Retrieval; Death and Dying; Darkness Visible; The Serpent Flight of the Honeybee; and an on-going training for women Arte Triptych Melissae. I can trace back the majority of the most exciting and moving experiences of my life to these courses. During this time, I have emerged, as if from a cocoon, as a shamanic practitioner and a Pollen Sister on the Path of Pollen. It has been a joyous struggle and it would not have been possible for me to carry on without the exemplary guidance of Simon Buxton, Naomi Lewis and Kate Shela.
The Sacred Trust is an organisation of impeccable integrity, wisdom, practical knowledge, skilful training, dedication and, above all else, endless compassion. My soul has led me back to their offerings again and again, because it knows it will be gently held and nurtured along this most challenging path of beauty.
